Illinois High School Soccer - Mendota knocks off Sterling
September 26, 2024: Sterling, IL 61081 In Thursday's non-league outing, the visiting Mendota Trojans soccer squad scored a nice 8-0 victory over the Sterling Golden Warriors.
The Trojans (14-1) will now prepare for their outing against Monmouth-Roseville (Monmouth, IL). The Titans go into the Three Rivers outing with a 7-5 record. In their last outing, Monmouth-Roseville prevailed over DePue/Hall (DePue, IL), 2-0, in a league outing.
Next up, the Golden Warriors play the Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL) in a Western Big 6 outing, on Tuesday, October 1. Sterling will attempt to improve on its 4-8 season record. The Maple Leafs go into the outing with a 4-6 record after their 2-1 league win over Galesburg (Galesburg, IL).
