The Abernathy Antelopes felled the host Friona Chieftans football team by a score of 34-21 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Antelopes face the New Home Leopards (New Home, TX) in a 2A-1 Region I District 2 test, on Friday, October 10. Abernathy will attempt to move on its 3-2 season record. The Leopards come into the test with a 4-1 record after their 30-3 non-league win over Roscoe (Roscoe, TX).

With the defeat, Friona drops to 1-4 on the campaign. The Chieftans travel to Farwell (Farwell, TX) to clash with the Steers in a non-league test on Friday, October 3. The Steers come into the test with a record of 3-1. Farwell won 25-24 in their recent non-league test against Post (Post, TX)
