The Corry Beavers got by the visiting Mercyhurst Prep Lakers football team by a score of 40-37 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Beavers play the North East Grape Pickers (North East, PA) in a District 10 Region 5 challenge, on Thursday, October 2. Corry will attempt to improve on its 4-2 season record. The Grape Pickers go into the challenge with a 5-1 record after their 35-7 non-league win over Titusville (Titusville, PA).

With the defeat, Mercyhurst Prep drops to 2-4 on the campaign. The Lakers travel to Union City (Union City, PA) to meet the Bears in a District 10 Region 3 test on Friday, October 3.
