Missouri High School Football - Lamar thwarted by Mt. Vernon
September 26, 2025: Mt. Vernon, MO 65712 Mt. Vernon Mountaineers (Mt. Vernon, MO) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Lamar Tigers (Lamar, MO), 21-0 in a league battle.
With the win, Mt. Vernon improves its record to 2-3 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Cassville (Cassville, MO) to play the Wildcats in a Big 8 battle on Friday, October 3. The Wildcats go into the challenge with a record of 2-3. Cassville won 42-14 in their recent non-league challenge against Harrisonville (Harrisonville, MO)
The Tigers (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Nevada (Nevada, MO). The Tigers go into the Big 8 challenge with a 4-1 record. In their last challenge, Nevada toppled East Newton (Granby, MO), 41-7, in a league test.
