The Luverne Tigers football squad scored 48 points and limited the host Montgomery Academy Eagles to 45 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Tigers now hold a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they host Calhoun for a 2A Region 3 challenge on Friday, October 3. Luverne will face a Tigers team coming off a 64-0 non-league loss to McIntosh (McIntosh, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 1-4.

The Eagles (5-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Trinity Presbyterian (Montgomery, AL). The Wildcats go into the 3A Region 2 challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Trinity Presbyterian nipped Saint James (Montgomery, AL), 34-28, in a non-league challenge.
