September 26, 2025: New London, CT 06320 The Stonington Bears got by the host New London Whalers football squad by a margin of 16-14 in Friday's non-league test.
The Bears now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Windham for a non-league test on Friday, October 3. Stonington will meet a Whippets squad coming off a 24-14 league loss to Bacon Academy/Lyman Memorial (Colchester, CT). The Whippets record now stands at 1-2.
With the defeat, New London drops to 1-2 on the year. The Whalers host Killingly (Killingly, CT) to face the Trailbazers in a Eastern Connecticut I challenge on Friday, October 3. The Trailbazers enter the challenge with a record of 3-0. Killingly won 49-21 in their recent non-league challenge against Law (Milford, CT)
