The Solon Spartans felled the visiting Grinnell Tigers football team by a score of 26-7 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans play the Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA) in a 3A District 5 challenge, on Friday, October 4. Solon will attempt to improve on its 5-0 season record. The Bobcats go into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 29-14 league win over Fairfield (Fairfield, IA).

The Tigers (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against South Tama County (Tama, IA). The Trojans go into the 3A District 5 challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, South Tama County lost by Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA), 54-14, in a league challenge.
