The Morton Panthers (Morton, MS) football trounced the visiting Pelahatchie Chiefs (Pelahatchie, MS), 52-0 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Panthers now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Quitman for a 4A Region 5 outing on Friday, October 4. Morton will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 20-19 non-league win over Stone (Wiggins, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 3-2.

With the defeat, Pelahatchie drops to 2-3 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to St. Andrew's Episcopal (Ridgeland, MS) to clash with the Saints in a 2A Region 6 outing on Friday, October 4. The Saints come into the outing with a record of 3-2. St. Andrew's Episcopal won 24-6 in their recent non-league outing against McLaurin (Florence, MS)
