Sanger West Hornets (Fresno, CA) boosters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Santa Maria Saints (Santa Maria, CA), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets (18-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Morro Bay (Morro Bay, CA). The Pirates come into the non-league challenge with a 13-16 record. In their last challenge, Morro Bay was beaten by Atascadero (Atascadero, CA), 3-2, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Saints face the Orcutt Academy Spartans (Orcutt, CA) in a Central Coast Athletic - Ocean test, on Tuesday, September 30. Santa Maria will attempt to improve on its 3-16 season record. The Spartans go into the test with a 4-7 record after their 3-2 league loss to Lompoc (Lompoc, CA).
