The Mariners got off to a fast start when, four minutes into the game,?junior?co-captain John David O'Hara was shoved in the box and converted the resulting penalty.? Rocky Hill had the better of the chances throughout the first half, looking dangerous on the counter and having success getting behind the Cats defensive line.? Despite several clear-cut opportunities the Mariners could not add to their lead. The second half was a different story, as CATs controlled the possession and began creating more chances.? Freshman goalkeeper Kian Garcia was called upon to make several saves, and also punched away a couple of dangerous corner kicks. With less than ten minutes remaining a failed clearance took a fortuitous bounce and led a CATs attacker in on goal. Garcia had no chance and the game was level.? Rocky Hill put on a desperate push over the final minutes in an attempt to retake the lead, including a rocket from sophomore Dudley Samponaro, but the CATs keeper was equal to the task.
