In Friday's league match, the host Independence Eagles football squad scored a big 35-0 victory over the Overton Bobcats.

In their next game, the Eagles clash with the Fairview Yellowjackets (Fairview, TN) in a non-league match, on Friday, October 6. Independence will attempt to move on its 4-3 season record. The Yellowjackets enter the match with a 5-2 record after their 34-20 non-league win over Montgomery Central (Cunningham, TN).
