The Elgin Comets football team (Marion, OH), was tipped 45-42 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Mt. Gilead Indians (Mt. Gilead, OH)

The Indians (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Highland (Marengo, OH). The Fighting Scots come into the Knox Morrow challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Highland was tipped by River Valley (Caledonia, OH), 35-21, in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now sport a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they host Perry for a Northwest Central challenge on Friday, September 10. Elgin will meet a Commodores team coming off a 35-30 non-league loss to Jefferson (Delphos, OH). The Commodores record now stands at 1-2.
