In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Loyd Star Hornets football squad scored a big 48-14 victory over the McLaurin Tigers.

In their next game, the Hornets clash with the Salem Wildcats (Tylertown, MS) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 10. Loyd Star will attempt to move on its 3-0 season record.
