In Friday's non-league game, the Sanderson Spartans (Raleigh, NC) football team knocked off the host Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC), by a score of 37-28.

The Spartans (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Harnett Central (Angier, NC). The Trojans come into the non-league game with a 0-2 record. In their last game, Harnett Central was knocked off by Apex (Apex, NC), 30-7, in a non-league game.

The Hawks now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bunn for a non-league game on Friday, September 10. Triton will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 34-20 non-league loss to North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-1.
