Kansas High School Soccer - Shawnee Heights toppled by Washburn Rural
September 3, 2024: Tecumseh, KS 66542 Washburn Rural Blues (Topeka, KS) backers exited the stadium pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds (Tecumseh, KS), 5-0 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Washburn Rural advances its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Blues travel to Berwyn/Cicero Morton (Cicero, IL) to clash with the Mustangs in a non-league test on Thursday, September 26. The Mustangs come into the test with a record of 2-2.
The Thunderbirds now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Lawrence Free State for a non-league test on Thursday, September 5. Shawnee Heights will clash with a Firebirds team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over De Soto (De Soto, KS). The Firebirds record now stands at 1-0.
