The East Alton-Wood River Oilers edged the host Southwestern Piasa Birds volleyball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league game.

Next up, the Oilers face the Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg, IL) in a Cahokia (Mississippi Division) game, on Thursday, September 5. East Alton-Wood River will attempt to advance on its 4-3 season record. The Midgets go into the game with a 1-2 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Marquette Catholic (Alton, IL).
