The Dyer County Choctaws held off the host Overton Wolverines football team by a count of 36-35 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Dyer County upgrades its record to 3-4 on the season. The Choctaws host Covington (Covington, TN) to confront the Chargers in a non-league outing on Friday, October 14. The Chargers go into the outing with a record of 5-1.

With the loss, Overton moves to 3-4 on the season. The Wolverines travel to Memphis Central (Memphis, TN) to confront the Warriors in a 5A Region 8 outing on Friday, October 7. The Warriors go into the outing with a record of 4-4. Memphis Central won 49-6 in their recent league outing against Kingsbury (Memphis, TN)
