The Gilbert Indians thwarted the host Lower Richland Diamond Hornets football team by a count of 48-25 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Gilbert advances its record to 4-2 on the year. The Indians host Swansea (Swansea, SC) to face the Tigers in a AAA Region 5 bout on Friday, October 7. The Tigers enter the bout with a record of 3-3. Swansea lost 33-20 in their recent league bout against Dreher (Columbia, SC)

The Diamond Hornets (1-5) will now prepare for their bout against Brookland-Cayce (Cayce, SC). The Bearcats enter the AAA Region 5 bout with a 3-3 record. In their last bout, Brookland-Cayce defeated Orangeburg-Wilkinson (Orangeburg, SC), 42-7, in a league bout.
