Alabama High School Football - Lanier prevails Russell County

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Lanier Poets (Montgomery, AL) and the host Russell County Warriors (Seale, AL), observed Lanier's football squad defeat Russell County by a count of 33-14.

The Poets now own a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Stanhope Elmore for a 6A Region 2 contest on Thursday, October 6. Lanier will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 21-16 league loss to Wetumpka (Wetumpka, AL). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-5.

Coming up next, the Warriors encounter the Pike Road Patriots (Pike Road, AL) in a 6A Region 2 contest, on Friday, October 7. Russell County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Patriots go into the contest with a 4-2 record after their 52-8 league win over Park Crossing (Montgomery, AL).
