Staples Wreckers (Westport, CT) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Warde Mustangs (Fairfield, CT), 3-2 in a league challenge.

Next, the Wreckers face the Trumbull Eagles (Trumbull, CT) in a Fairfield County challenge, on Thursday, October 6. Staples will attempt to better on its 4-5 season record. The Eagles enter the challenge with a 9-0 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Stamford (Stamford, CT).

The Mustangs now have a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bassick for a non-league challenge on Monday, October 3. Warde will face a Lions team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Kolbe-Cathedral (Bridgeport, CT). The Lions record now stands at 4-2.
