In Saturday's non-league contest, the Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) volleyball squad were winner over the visiting West Harrison Hurricanes (Gulfport, MS), by a margin of 2-0.

Next up, the Cougars face the Union Yellowjackets (Union, MS) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, October 3. Newton County will attempt to better on its 27-4 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the contest with a 24-11 record after their 2-0 non-league win over West Harrison (Gulfport, MS).
