September 4, 2024: Lexington, KY 40507 The Sayre Spartans soccer squad scored 8 points and held the visiting Somerset Briar Jumpers to 0 in the Spartans non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Spartans now hold a 8-1 record. They play next when they host Estill County for a non-league bout on Monday, September 9. Sayre will play a Engineers squad coming off a 4-0 non-league win over Rowan County (Morehead, KY). The Engineers record now stands at 5-2.
With the loss, Somerset moves to 6-2 on the year. The Briar jumpers host Garrard County (Lancaster, KY) to play the Golden Lions in a non-league bout on Thursday, September 5. The Golden Lions go into the bout with a record of 4-3. Garrard County won 4-0 in their recent league bout against Lincoln County (Stanford, KY)
