September 4, 2025: Cherokee, NC 28719 The Cherokee Braves felled the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers football team by a score of 26-8 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Braves play the Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 11. Cherokee will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Vikings go into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 42-12 non-league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC).
With the defeat, Mitchell drops to 0-3 on the campaign. The Mountaineers host Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC) to meet the Cougars in a non-league test on Thursday, September 18. The Cougars go into the challenge with a record of 2-1.
