North Carolina High School Soccer - Shelby nudges South Point
September 5, 2023: Shelby, NC 28152 Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) supporters were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Golden Lions confront the East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, September 6. Shelby will attempt to move on its 5-0 season record. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC).
The Red Raiders now possess a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Ashbrook for a Big South 3A challenge on Monday, September 11. South Point will confront a Greenwave team coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Greenwave record now stands at 0-4.
