In Thursday's non-league match, the host Northwood Falcons football squad scored a close 24-21 triumph over the Benton Tigers.

The Falcons (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Peabody (Alexandria, LA). The Warhorses come into the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Peabody was nudged by LaGrange (Lake Charles, LA), 22-20, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Tigers confront the Airline Vikings (Bossier City, LA) in a 5A District 1 match, on Friday, September 13. Benton will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record.
