September 5, 2024: Bakersville, NC 28705 The Mitchell Mountaineers walloped the visiting Avery County Vikings football team by a score of 48-6 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Mountaineers play the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 12. Mitchell will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Cougars go into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 22-20 non-league loss to Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC).
The Vikings (0-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Madison (Marshall, NC). The Patriots go into the non-league challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Madison was ripped by Rosman (Rosman, NC), 22-14, in a non-league challenge.
