In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Bluestem Lions football squad scored a close 30-24 victory over the Uniontown Eagles.

The Lions (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Neodesha (Neodesha, KS). The Blue Streaks enter the Tri-Valley match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Neodesha nipped Cherryvale (Cherryvale, KS), 33-6, in a league battle.

The Eagles now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Maranatha Christian Academy for a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. Uniontown will play a Eagles team coming off a 6-0 non-league win over Harmon (Kansas City, KS). The Eagles record now stands at 1-0.
