September 5, 2025: Winnsboro, LA 71295 Briarfield Academy Rebels (Lake Providence, LA) boosters left the game content Friday as they observed their football squad crush the host Franklin Academy Cougars (Winnsboro, LA), 72-14 in a non-league test.
The Rebels now hold a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Riverdale Academy for a MAIS 8-Man 2A District 8 (8 Man) test on Friday, September 12. Briarfield Academy will meet a Rebels squad coming off a 46-0 non-league loss to Prairie View Academy (Bastrop, LA). The Rebels record now stands at 0-2.
The Cougars (1-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Tensas Academy (St. Joseph, LA). The Chiefs go into the MAIS 8-Man 2A District 7 (8 Man) challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Tensas Academy was ripped by Prentiss Christian (Prentiss, MS), 32-6, in a non-league challenge.
