The Waverly Central Tigers walloped the visiting Houston County Fighting Irish football team by a score of 42-6 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Tigers face the Camden Central Lions (Camden, TN) in a 3A Region 6 challenge, on Friday, September 12. Waverly Central will attempt to improve on its 3-0 season record. The Lions come into the test with a 1-2 record after their 21-0 non-league loss to Dyersburg (Dyersburg, TN).

With the defeat, Houston County drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Fighting irish travel to Wayne County (Waynesboro, TN) to meet the Wildcats in a non-league test on Friday, September 12. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 1-2. Wayne County lost 33-22 in their recent non-league test against McNairy Central (Selmer, TN)
