In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Sam Houston Broncos football squad scored a good 44-35 triumph over the Leesville Wampus Cats.

The Broncos (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Teurlings Catholic (Lafayette, LA). The Rebels come into the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Teurlings Catholic prevailed over Opelousas (Opelousas, LA), 48-12, in a non-league battle.

The Wampus Cats now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Tioga for a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. Leesville will play a Indians team coming off a 47-31 non-league loss to Sterlington (Sterlington, LA). The Indians record now stands at 1-1.
