Tennessee High School Football - McMinn County defeated by Walker Valley

September 5, 2025: Cleveland, TN 37312

The Walker Valley Mustangs were victorious over the visiting McMinn County Cherokees football team by a score of 54-42 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Chattanooga Central Pounders (Harrison, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 12. Walker Valley will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Pounders enter the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 44-8 non-league loss to East Hamilton (Ooltewah, TN).

The Cherokees (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Lenoir City (Lenoir City, TN). The Panthers enter the 5A Region 3 challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Lenoir City lost by Oak Ridge (Oak Ridge, TN), 56-6, in a non-league challenge.
