New Boston Lions (New Boston, TX) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Shelbyville Dragons (Shelbyville, TX), 55-42 in a non-league battle.

With the win, New Boston improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Lions host Atlanta (Atlanta, TX) to meet the Rabbits in a non-league match on Friday, September 12. The Rabbits come into the match with a record of 1-1. Atlanta won 25-15 in their recent non-league match against Hooks (Hooks, TX)

Coming up next, the Dragons meet the Waskom Wildcats (Waskom, TX) in a non-league match, on Thursday, September 11. Shelbyville will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Wildcats go into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 40-6 non-league win over Hemphill (Hemphill, TX).
