Wisconsin High School Football - Washburn overwhelmed by Shell Lake
September 5, 2025: Washburn, WI 54891 The Shell Lake Lakers walloped the host Washburn Castle Guards football team by a score of 76-0 in Friday's league challenge.
In their next game, the Lakers face the South Shore Cardinals (Port Wing, WI) in a Northwoods - West (8 Man) challenge, on Friday, September 12. Shell Lake will attempt to improve on its 3-0 season record. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 34-28 league win over Winter/Birchwood (Winter, WI).
The Castle Guards (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Northwood/Solon Springs (Minong, WI). The Evergreens come into the Northwoods - West (8 Man) test with a 1-2 record. In their last test, Northwood/Solon Springs triumphed over Bruce (Bruce, WI), 16-6, in a league test.
