Middletown Islanders (Middletown, RI) backers exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the host Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI), 3-2 in a league test.

With the triumph, Middletown advances its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Islanders travel to Rogers (Newport, RI) to clash with the Vikings in a non-league test on Tuesday, September 9. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 0-2.

The Chieftains now have a 0-2 record. They play next when they host Prout for a Division 2 outing on Monday, September 8. Ponaganset will play a Crusaders squad coming off a 3-3 league Toll Gate (Warwick, RI). The Crusaders record now stands at 1-2.
