In Wednesday's non-league battle, the host Alexander Central Cougars volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Bunker Hill Bears.

The Cougars (1-6) will now prepare for their battle against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies come into the Northwestern 3A/4A battle with a 8-2 record. In their last battle, Ashe County defeated Avery County (Newland, NC), 3-0, in a non-league battle.
