Match Summary
Richard Montgomery Rockets opened their season with a straight set win over Northwest, but it was not an easy three-setter at all. The visitors were up 22-16 in the first and when it looked liked they were going to take it, Rockets strung 7 straight points on Amy Ye's serve and took the lead 23-22.
The Jaguars were able to even it at 23, but the Rockets won the last two on Ema Djordjevic's two Ks. Junior opposite/setter used it as a segway to 2nd set when she helped her team jump to 8-1 lead serving seven times in a row.
The Rockets ran away with the second set, but the third one was again a close call. Teams were tied at 18-18, but 4 errors by Jaguars later, a K by freshman outside hitter Saesha Dhote (at 23-21) and K and ace on match point by Ema Djordjevic, got the home team over the finish line.
