Texas High School Football - Bangs nudges Merkel

In Friday's non-league match, the host Bangs Dragons football squad scored a close 20-14 victory over the Merkel Badgers.

The Dragons (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Grape Creek (San Angelo, TX). The Eagles enter the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Grape Creek was nudged by Reagan County (Big Lake, TX), 38-20, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Badgers confront the Hawley Bearcats (Hawley, TX) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 13. Merkel will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Bearcats enter the match with a 2-0 record after their 21-0 non-league win over Albany (Albany, TX).
