The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Elkhorn Valley Falcons (Tilden, NE) and the host Boyd County Spartans (Spencer, NE), witnessed Elkhorn Valley's football squad knock off Boyd County by a tally of 34-14.

The Falcons (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Humphrey-Lindsay (Humphrey, NE). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Humphrey-Lindsay gained a win over Niobrara/Verdigre (Niobrara, NE), 24-22, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Spartans battle the St. Mary's Cardinals (O'Neill, NE) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 13. Boyd County will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record. The Cardinals enter the contest with a 2-0 record after their 54-14 non-league win over Burwell (Burwell, NE).
