Kosciusko Whippets (Kosciusko, MS) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the host Leake Central Gators (Carthage, MS), 28-27 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Kosciusko advances its record to 1-1 on the season. The Whippets travel to Winona (Winona, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league battle on Friday, September 13. The Tigers go into the battle with a record of 1-1. Winona lost 42-6 in their recent non-league battle against Grenada (Grenada, MS)

The Gators now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Morton for a non-league battle on Friday, September 13. Leake Central will play a Panthers team coming off a 45-28 non-league loss to Wayne County (Waynesboro, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 1-1.
