In Friday's non-league game, the Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX) football team edged the visiting West Oso Bears (Corpus Christi, TX), by a tally of 12-6.

In their next game, the Greyhounds face the Agua Dulce Longhorns (Agua Dulce, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 13. Taft will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record. The Longhorns enter the game with a 2-0 record after their 30-7 non-league win over Freer (Freer, TX).

The Bears (0-2) will now prepare for their game against San Diego (San Diego, TX). The Vaqueros enter the non-league game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, San Diego was edged by Rockport-Fulton (Rockport, TX), 21-13, in a non-league game.
