September 6, 2024: Portland, CT 06480 Portland Highlanders (Portland, CT) backers exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the visiting Haddam-Killingworth Cougars (Higganum, CT), 1-0 in a league test.
With the triumph, Portland advances its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Highlanders host Westbrook (Westbrook, CT) to clash with the Knights in a Shoreline test on Tuesday, September 10. The Knights come into the test with a record of 1-0. Westbrook won 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Wheeler (North Stonington, CT)
The Cougars now have a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Coginchaug Regional for a Shoreline test on Tuesday, September 10. Haddam-Killingworth will clash with a Blue Devils team coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Granby Memorial (Granby, CT). The Blue Devils record now stands at 0-1.
