In Saturday's non-league contest, the Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD) soccer team routed the visiting Hampshire Trojans (Romney, WV), by a tally of 4-0.

Next, the Miners face the Fort Hill Sentinels (Cumberland, MD) in a Class 1A West I contest, on Saturday, September 6. Mountain Ridge will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record.

With the loss, Hampshire moves to 1-5 on the year. The Trojans host Keyser (Keyser, WV) to encounter the Golden Tornado in a Potomac Valley challenge on Tuesday, September 9. The Golden Tornado go into the challenge with a record of 1-4. Keyser lost 5-2 in their recent league contest against Frankfort (Ridgeley, WV)
