The Kearney Bearcats (Kearney, NE) softball overwhelmed the host Scottsbluff Bearcats (Scottsbluff, NE), 12-3 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Bearcats (11-3) will now prepare for their bout against Beatrice (Beatrice, NE). The Orangemen go into the non-league bout with a 7-3 record. In their last bout, Beatrice knocked off Ashland-Greenwood (Ashland, NE), 12-4, in a non-league contest.

The Bearcats now hold a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Alliance for a B District 10 contest on Tuesday, September 9. Scottsbluff will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Lexington (Lexington, NE). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-7.
