Poplarville Hornets (Poplarville, MS) boosters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Poplarville improves its record to 10-5 on the season. The Hornets travel to Columbia (Columbia, MS) to face the Wildcats in a Class 4A Region 7 test on Tuesday, September 9. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 3-7. Columbia lost 3-1 in their recent non-league test against Seminary (Seminary, MS)

The Trojans now own a 5-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lafayette for a Class 5A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, September 9. New Hope will meet a Commodores team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Oxford (Oxford, MS). The Commodores record now stands at 5-14.
