Illinois High School Soccer - Columbia nudges Marquette
September 7, 2024: Columbia, IL 62236 Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL) and the visiting Marquette Mustangs (Chesterfield, MO), saw Columbia's soccer squad hold off Marquette by a count of 3-2.
The Eagles (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Breese Central (Breese, IL). The Cougars enter the Cahokia (Mississippi Division) battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, Breese Central was edged by Greenville (Greenville, IL), 6-0, in a non-league battle.
Next up, the Mustangs battle the Clayton Greyhounds (St. Louis, MO) in a non-league battle, on Monday, September 9. Marquette will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Greyhounds enter the battle with a 2-1 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Webster Groves (Webster Groves, MO).
