Southwestern Warriors (Somerset, KY) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Warriors face the Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) in a District 48 challenge, on Monday, September 12. Southwestern will attempt to better on its 3-1 season record. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 11-1 non-league win over McCreary Central (Stearns, KY).
