Massachusetts High School Soccer - Westport overwhelmed by Melrose
September 8, 2022: Melrose, MA 02176 The crowd at Thursday's non-league test between the Melrose Red Raiders (Melrose, MA) and the visiting Westport Wildcats (Westport, MA), saw Melrose's soccer squad triumph over Westport by a count of 6-1.
The Red Raiders now hold a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Belmont for a Middlesex test on Monday, September 12. Melrose will meet a Marauders squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Winchester (Winchester, MA). The Marauders record now stands at 3-1.
With the loss, Westport drops to 0-1 on the season. The Wildcats host Stoneham (Stoneham, MA) to meet the Spartans in a non-league test on Monday, September 12. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 0-1. Stoneham lost 3-0 in their recent league test against Belmont (Belmont, MA)
