September 8, 2022: Mercer Island, WA 98040 The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Newport - Bellevue Knights (Bellevue, WA) and the host Mercer Island Islanders (Mercer Island, WA), saw Newport - Bellevue's volleyball squad nip Mercer Island by a tally of 3-2.
With the win, Newport - Bellevue upgrades its record to 2-0 on the year. The Knights travel to Skyline (Sammamish, WA) to play the Spartans in a 4A KingCo bout on Monday, September 12. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Skyline won 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Holy Names Academy (Seattle, WA)
The Islanders now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Bishop Blanchet for a non-league bout on Friday, September 9. Mercer Island will play a Bears squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Seattle Prep (Seattle, WA). The Bears record now stands at 0-1.
