The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Copper Canyon Aztecs (Glendale, AZ) and the visiting Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks (Maricopa, AZ), observed Copper Canyon's football squad edge Desert Sunrise by a count of 21-17.

The Aztecs now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Mingus for a non-league contest on Friday, September 15. Copper Canyon will play a Marauders squad coming off a 28-27 non-league win over Blue Ridge (Lakeside, AZ). The Marauders record now stands at 1-2.
