The Cornell Raiders (Coraopolis, PA) football defeated the host Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA), 30-14 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Raiders face the Avella Eagles (Avella, PA) in a WPIAL A Black Hills bout, on Friday, September 15. Cornell will attempt to advance on its 3-0 season record. The Eagles enter the bout with a 2-1 record after their 14-7 non-league win over Mapletown (Greensboro, PA).
